Waiting Upon the Lord - piano, vocal

  • Waiting Upon the Lord

Waiting Upon the Lord is a quiet reflection on the times when not only do we wait upon the Lord, but we wait upon the Lord's timing, which is sometimes even more difficult.  Often we need to just keep waiting, and praying, and praying for the strength to keep waiting. This song works equally well as a solo, or a duet with the harmonies provided.

Music and Lyrics by: Cathy Neff (ASCAP)

There are words that haven't been spoken.
There are answers that haven't been known.
There are bonds that cannot be broken.
There are feelings that cannot be shown.

And so I wait. And so I wait.

There is music just off the horizon
That only the spirit can hear.
There are realms that we've never laid eyes on,
But the heart - it just knows they are near.

And so I wait upon the Lord.

    Oh, what is it for?
    Oh, what does it mean?
This plan that He has for me,
Is it more than it seems?

There is beauty beyond all description
When He gathers you into His fold,
And your soul finally has its completion
When at last you are finally told.

And so I wait upon the Lord.

    I wait and I pray,
    I pray for the strength,
The strength that I need to help me wait.

    Waiting upon the Lord.
