Sweet Is the Work Medley combines that hymn with the song How Will They Know, making a perfect song for leaders or teachers to sing to their classes or other leaders. Very effective use of singing one hymn's text to another hymn's melody. The work of the gospel of Jesus Christ is sweet, but "how will they know unless we tell them so?" Use this arrangement to inspire your leaders.

Sweet is the Work
Text: Isaac Watts: music: John McClellan, arr. Cathy Neff
Free download. May only be used for incidental home and church use.
1. Sweet is the work, my God, my King,
To praise thy name, give thanks and sing,
To show thy love by morning light,
And talk of all thy truths at night.
2. Sweet is the day of sacred rest.
No mortal care shall seize my breast.
Oh, may my heart in tune be found,
Like David's harp of solemn sound!
3. My heart shall triumph in my Lord
And bless his works and bless his word.
Thy works of grace, how bright they shine!
How deep thy counsels, how divine!
4. But, oh, what triumph shall I raise
To thy dear name through endless days,
When in the realms of joy I see
Thy face in full felicity!
How Will They Know
Words and music by: Natalie W. Sleeth, arr. Cathy Neff
How will they know,
The ones for whom we care,
That God is love,
And with us everywhere,
That life is good
With blessings we can share?
How will they know unless we teach them so?

"Beautiful Savior (Fairest Lord Jesus) for string quartet, flute, and piano is based on a traditional folk song and is a favorite hymn of many. This arrangement is for string quartet (or ensemble) with a solo flute and piano accompaniment. Rich harmonies and smooth flowing lines make this a reverent, yet powerful statement of love for the Savior. It is a short setting of three verses, but the sections are easily repeated with, say, dynamic variation, if a longer rendition is desired. The flute part has the option of a higher or lower octave at parts, at the discretion of the conductor or player. A separate piano part is provided to eliminate page turns of the score, if desired. This is a free download that can be used for incidental home and church use.

(Instrumental: Lyrics given as reference only)
1. Fair is the sunshine,
Fairer the moonlight
And all the stars in heav'n above;
Jesus shines brighter,
Jesus shines purer
And brings to all the world his love.
2. Fair are the meadows,
Fairer the woodlands,
Robed in the flowers of blooming spring;
Jesus is fairer,
Jesus is purer.
He makes the sorrowing spirit sing.
3. Beautiful Savior!
Lord of the nations!
Son of God and Son of Man!
Thee will I honor, praise, and give glory,
Give praise and glory evermore!
Evermore!
Music: Silesian Folk Song, arr. Cathy Neff
(Instrumental: Lyrics given as reference only)
Fairest Lord Jesus, Ruler of all nature,
O Thou of God and man the Son,
Thee will I cherish, Thee will I honor,
Thou, my soul’s glory, joy and crown.
Fair are the meadows, fairer still the woodlands,
Robed in the blooming garb of spring;
Jesus is fairer, Jesus is purer,
Who makes the woeful heart to sing.
Fair is the sunshine,
Fairer still the moonlight,
And all the twinkling starry host;
Jesus shines brighter, Jesus shines purer
Than all the angels heaven can boast.
All fairest beauty, heavenly and earthly,
Wondrously, Jesus, is found in Thee;
None can be nearer, fairer or dearer,
Than Thou, my Savior, art to me.
Beautiful Savior! Lord of all the nations!
Son of God and Son of Man!
Glory and honor, praise, adoration,
Now and forever more be Thine.

Charity who: Increase
Our testimonies of Jesus Christ,
Through prayer and scripture study.

The promptings of the Holy Ghost.
Dedicate ourselves to strengthening
Marriages, families, and homes.
Find nobility in motherhood,
And joy in womanhood.
Delight in service and good works.
Love life and learning.
Stand for truth and righteousness.
Sustain the priesthood
As the authority of God on earth.
Enjoy the blessings of the temple,
Understand our divine destiny,
And strive for exaltation.
As a worldwide sisterhood we are united
In our devotion to Jesus Christ,
Our Savior and Exemplar.

I'm Trying/When He Comes medley is a combination of two favorite children's songs: I'm Trying to Be Like Jesus, and I Wonder When He Comes Again. This arrangement has a part for children's hand-held bells that can easily be adapted for another solo instrument as needed. This arrangement is just a lovely reminder to continue to try to be more like the Savior as we wait for His return.

I'm trying to be like Jesus;
I'm following in His ways.
I'm trying to love as He did,
In all that I do and say.
At times I am tempted
To make a wrong choice,
But I try to listen
As the still small voice whispers,
"Love one another as Jesus loves you.
Try to show kindness in all that you do.
Be gentle and loving in deed and in thought,
For these are the things Jesus taught."
I wonder when He comes again,
Will herald angels sing?
Will earth be white with drifted snow,
Or will the world know spring?
I wonder if one star will shine
Far brighter than the rest;
Will daylight stay the whole night through?
Will songbirds leave their nests?
I'm sure he'll call His little ones
Together round His knee,
Because He said in days gone by,
"Suffer them to come to me."

INSTRUMENTAL - text given as reference only
1. If you could hie to Kolob
In the twinkling of an eye,
And then continue onward
With that same speed to fly,
Do you think that you could ever,
Through all eternity,
Find out the generation
Where Gods began to be?
2. Or see the grand beginning,
Where space did not extend?
Or view the last creation,
Where Gods and matter end?
Methinks the Spirit whispers,
"No man has found 'pure space,'
Nor seen the outside curtains,
Where nothing has a place."
3. The works of God continue,
And worlds and lives abound;
Improvement and progression
Have one eternal round.
There is no end to matter;
There is no end to space;
There is no end to spirit;
There is no end to race.
4. There is no end to virtue;
There is no end to might;
There is no end to wisdom;
There is no end to light.
There is no end to union;
There is no end to youth;
There is no end to priesthood;
There is no end to truth.
5. There is no end to glory;
There is no end to love;
There is no end to being;
There is no death above.
There is no end to glory;
There is no end to love;
There is no end to being;
There is no death above.
